Text of Complaint by Srinjoy Roy:

Dear Team,

With much agony and disgust, I have to share this complaint with the team, inDrive. I, accompanied by a female friend, booked a cab this afternoon, at 12:36 p.m. from DPS Newtown Playground to Jamunotri Tower, Dumdum. The cab details are: White Maruti Suzuki Dzire, WBO51895 and the driver was Asarfi.

To begin with, the driver was late and did not answer my call. When the cab picked us up and left, we politely asked the driver to take a route we usually travel. I am a regular passenger from my house to my school and I am comfortable with a particular route only. The driver did not listen to me. With harsh words and constant arguments, he kept driving along his desired way that he claimed was “specified by Google Maps”. I kept on insisting on him and he turned his deaf ear to it.

After a few minutes, I had to drop off my friend in the middle of the road after which the driver took certain ambiguous roads to reach the destination. I kept on shouting at him to not go via such unknown routes and to stop the car so that I can step out, to which he shouted back at me and did not listen at all. I was surprised by the advancement in Google Maps which seem to be more authentic than the passenger who himself is traveling. So, I didn’t say anything but saw that he has already crossed my destination when I asked him to stop.

And last but not least, the driver was quite unhygienic as he kept on chewing certain substances and opened his door while driving to spit on the road, thereby violating the legal rules and norms.

Team, kindly understand and note down the following points :
– The SECURITY, COMFORT and CONVENIENCE of the passengers depend upon themselves and not on your drivers and Google Maps. If the passenger asks a driver to take a specific route with which he is comfortable, the driver must take that specific route and not go on as per his wishes.
– If you are employing drivers in your company, you must check out whether the drivers maintain proper decency, ethics and hygiene. If required, you need to mend your rules so that they can go in sync with the passenger’s desires.

I sincerely wish for a written apology from the driver’s side and I hope that such cases do not repeat in the future. Too many complaints are already coming against inDrive and you must take stern steps to resolve those.
