Hello Sir/Madam.
All the authorised airtel stores in the District of Kodagu, Karnataka are charging extra money for a duplicate SIM to be issued in case of SIM lost or SIM not working. I come from a place called Napoklu. There’s a authorised Airtel store near by and I happen to visit the store to change (duplicate) a SIM for my grandmother. He said, it’s 100 rupees. Later I called up the customer care and he confirmed to me it starts at 25/- and a max of 50/- is charged. The airtel authorised dealer was very reluctant to give me back the money and he confirmed saying we charge every customer rupees 100/- for a SIM change. I then enquired it in town of Virajpet and then in Madikeri. It’s the same. Why is it that no action is taken against these money hoarders who are cheating people on a daily basis and are not afraid the law will affect them anyway. Isn’t it Airtel’s responsibility to look into this high end corruption which is rampant in every airtel authorised store. They don’t even have a bill book to provide us with a receipt for the money provided. How can this rampant abuse of money be overlooked each and everyday. Is the extra money being charged by every authorised dealer illegal and hurtful to a needy person? Isn’t it worthy of you all doing a complete revamp of how this abuse of money is happening right in front of the common man. Maybe people don’t complain and have taken it for granted. But is it worth the corruption which is in the system you have put in place. Isn’t the common man’s worth nothing? It’s my humble request to you guys at the legal office of the airtel store to address not just my issue but the issue which is affecting thousand other customers and individuals. In case you all need a live proof, I can detail it with the proof in case you choose to visit and find out on your own.
