I the undersigned bearing subject account no. wish to state that I have been charged exorbitant bill for the month of August 2020. I wish to state that the amount derived is baseless and not in accordance to my usage in any given month till date. My bill for August 2020 was Rs.3,780/- which has been more than double the average of bills charged earlier. Please find below details of unit consumption for preceding and succeeding months hereunder:
June 2020 -224 and 226 (2019)
July 2020 – 213 and 196 (2019)
August 2020 – 458 and 184 (2019)
September 2020 – 118 and 101 (2019)
October 2020 – 200 and 211 (2019)
November 2020 – 201 and 132 (2019)
I have already paid for the succeeding months post August 2020 as they were average as per the past bills issued. However, the bill for August 2020 is exorbitant and unacceptable i.e., it i is 2.5 times that of August 2019 (whereas there is no much difference in other months as compared to last year). There was no reason that I should be charged such amount when my usage was not to this extent. Just to inform, I am into essential services and thus not at home. My parents are only the two members who are at home throughout the day and I am in only after 9:30 pm till 8 am. Further, as it was rainy season, we did not use AC since June till early October 2020. I have received no satisfactory answers or justifications as to why the unit consumption has been 2.5 times only in August 2020 and not before or thereafter.
In view of the above misappropriation / discrepancy, I hereby request you to take cognizance of such misappropriations done and bills slapped to the middle-class community in this pandemic. The company may be ordered to issue a revised bill as average of last 3 months and also waive of late fees levied. The bill issued for August 2020 is thus baseless and unacceptable as well as not affordable for a sole bread winner of the family. I have today received the bill with notice of disconnection upon failure of outstanding dues. I do not want to default and hence I have promptly paid bills for rest of the months, my concern is only for August 2020 exorbitant bill levied by Adani Electricity.
