I had the C1000-124 – IBM Cloud Advocate v1 – English (ENU) online exam on March 28, 2022, at 3:15 PM IST. I had taken up around 20 questions, then suddenly my Air Conditioner in the room started leaking water and the water was falling on the socket. Since it was an emergency, I checked my exam screen and found the option to pause the exam. I paused the exam and went to switch off the AC as I was aloan in the room and it was necessary to avoid any accident due to a short circuit. It only took me 3-4 seconds to do so, after that I returned back and resumed the exam. The proctor called me and informed me that he will revoke the exam because I moved away from the webcam. I told him the reason and also tried to show him the water leakage from the air conditioner but still, my exam was revoked. A case number “0776860” was registered.
I just received a resolution email for “0776860” stating the reason for cancellation and it says I was using a mobile phone which was never the case. I was never contacted or given a chance to address what actually happened. This is not at all acceptable as I was never using a mobile phone and I only moved away for a few seconds because of an emergency. They did not provide me with any evidence of using the mobile phone. I will never accept the false blame of cheating on me. Another point to note here is if my intention would have been to use a mobile phone, why would I pause the exam to grab the proctor’s attention. My only intention was to avoid any possible accident. As soon as I saw the emergency, my prompt reaction was to turn off the Air conditioner. I checked the exam screen and saw an option to pause the exam, I did the same to get the proctor’s attention. I switched off the AC and restarted the exam in just a few seconds. Please take appropriate actions and help me to get a chance to re-write the exam.
