Text of Complaint by Amit Kumar Sharma:

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against JBL and Flipkart regarding a recent purchase of the “JBL Tune 230NC TWS Bluetooth Headset” made on June 28, 2023. I am deeply disappointed with both the product and the lack of resolution provided by both companies in response to the issues I encountered.

Purchase Date: June 27, 2023 and delivered on 28th June 2023
Issues Faced:
Misleading Advertisement: The product was purchased based on the enticing features advertised, including “Active Noise Cancellation,” “40Hr Playtime,” “JBL App Compatibility,” and “Speed Charge.” However, upon using the headset, it became evident that these advertised features were far from the reality.
Defective Active Noise Cancellation: The most significant concern was the active noise cancellation feature, which failed to provide the expected level of noise reduction. This deficiency severely impacted my ability to enjoy audio content in various environments, contrary to what was claimed in the advertisement.
Inadequate Playtime: The promised “40Hr Playtime” was nowhere close to reality. The headset’s battery life fell significantly short of the advertised duration, causing frequent interruptions and inconveniences during usage.
Communication with Flipkart:
Immediately after receiving the product, on both June 29th and 30th, I initiated contact with Flipkart’s customer support to request a return and refund due to the misleading advertisement and the product’s subpar performance. However, I was informed that Flipkart does not take responsibility for quality issues and was advised to contact JBL directly. This was over the call and on their app.
Communication with JBL:
Following Flipkart’s guidance, I reached out to JBL’s customer support on July 4, 2023, detailing the issues and attaching relevant evidence, including the order invoice and product images. Despite consistent follow-ups and a month-long dialogue with JBL’s support team, I received no satisfactory response or resolution.
Escalation and Further Disappointment:
After a month of unsuccessful attempts to resolve the matter with JBL, I escalated the issue to higher levels of JBL’s management. To my dismay, I was informed that, despite the product being purchased through Flipkart, JBL would not be able to provide a refund or resolution as per their policy. This sudden change in stance left me frustrated and helpless.
Request for Resolution:
I hereby request the following resolutions:
A full refund for the purchase price of the JBL Tune 230NC TWS Bluetooth Headset (Blue, True Wireless) amounting to Rs 5399/-.
Improved customer service communication and timely responses from both JBL and Flipkart regarding the issues raised.
Ensuring accuracy and transparency in future product advertisements to prevent other customers from falling victim to similar misleading claims.
