I’ve been living in Ashapurna Valley, Near New High Court Building, Jhalamand, Jodhpur (Rajasthan) since October, 2020.
The average monthly bill till June, 2021 was around Rs.1,000-1,500.
But from July, the bill suddenly increased by approx 100%.
In July, I paid for 2 bill payments of Rs.5,778 (Rs.2,862+Rs.2,916), one for the average bill for lockdown period and another bill for the due amount according to reading. I went to the discom office but they said I’ll have to pay for the readings shown on the meter. The biggest question is, how can my average bill increase by 100% while nothing has changed in my home. I didn’t buy any home appliances or equipments, we’re 2 working people living in the house and both of us leave house early in the morning and come back in the evening. I just can’t understand why there’s this drastic change in my electricity bill.
