I tried recharging both my daughters phone 8197716014 and 7760346944 on 21/04/2021 via Airtel website for Rs 379. While I was going through with the transaction with my credit card I got the message “Transaction failed” and “Please try again”. So I went ahead and tried recharging the phone numbers again. This happened with both numbers. The transaction was successful the second time for both numbers. After a few seconds I got an sms from my bank and I noticed that I was charged 2 times for both numbers. In other words 379 was debited from my card 4 times. Should Airtel not have a method by which a phone number should not get recharged twice for the same unlimited package? All companies I have dealt with online reverse the extra double charges within a few days/hours if such a mistake has happened. Why does Airtel not have that option? How can you cheat people like this? I waited for a few days for the reversal of funds to take place. Airtel doesn’t even have the option where we can call and register a complaint. Their customer care numbers just make us go through the IVRS and gives us many options but not the opportunity to talk to a customer care agent.
BTW this is not the first time this has happened. This same thing happened a few months back but I did not do anything about it. Airtel should be penalised and I should be paid back my money.
I can be reached on 9535245906.
Thank you
