i have a dhani onefreedom card
on 14th april 2022, my card was blocked citing unauthorised transaction and i was asked to clear all dues to unblock the card (dues which i’m to pay over a period of 3 months in equated installments)
i was informed that i used PAYTM to make a transaction, which is unauthorised by dhani and hence the action, inspite of my repeated calls that i have not used dhani with paytm (i can show records in my paytm app), the dhani execs even went to extent insisting i must have used it cause i was in need of money, the amount being Rs. 1496/-
i tracked by payments and it turns out i had used the card on the pharmaeasy app, by using the pay by debit/credit card option, i spoke to them and they provided me the invoice where it clearly mentions my payment was a card payment
dhani first refuses to accept my replies and then says even if what i say is true , their system shows it as a paytm/noida payment, hence they refuse to unblock my card, insist i clear all dues and are charging me an interest
ive faced this issue for the 2nd time, the first time i ignored and assumed i made some mistake and paid up, that was my mistake, i should have followed up with dhani
my question to dhani were
1. how is the customer supposed to know that the app/portal transaction is unauthorised, if it s, why did u allow the transaction to be completed and why penalise the customer for something he is not aware of if the backend system has a paytm link
2. what is the guarantee in future i wont face same issue, they have no reply to this expect that my card can get blocked again
i think dhani is behaving in a very arrogant manner, they accept that my transaction was genuine on the pharmaeasy app, but since their system has flagged it as paytm, they refuse to take action
i even requested they unblock my card, remove the interest fees and continue my monthly payments since they agree i didnt do it intentionally or even my fault
but they are blunt about it, they want me to pay up the amount
