On 12 March 2020, I bought a Lenovo K8 Note for my father as his first Android handset from Amazon and got it delivered to Varanasi. After 15 days of receiving the mobile set the charger stopped charging. As lockdown had begun due to pandemic, we could not visit the service center immediately. We waited for few months and then around July, battery of handset was swelled, so we took it to Lenovo service center ‘Elite communication’ in Mahmoorganj Varanasi. They made us visit thrice saying their manager is not available, please come after 2 days. Finally on 13 August, they told us charger is duplicate and buying such sets online from amazon results in such situations always and please come on Monday to meet manager. Service center also told us such cases are very frequent in small towns and there are many customers who bought from Amazon and come here with complaints every month.
Finally when on Monday, 17 August we visited the service center and there we got a response that parts of that mobile are duplicate and there is no warranty available online for this handset. We have contacted amazon customer care also but of no help. We are left with no option except that our money and time has gone in vain.
