Text of Complaint by Sumit Pophare:

I submitted Port out request from Idea (now Know as vi – Vodafone Idea) to Reliance Jio on 15.10.2020. After the process was completed I received call from Idea representatives and asked my reason for the port out. They assured to resolve my issue and also promised to give me bill free service for 3 months and then Rs 100/- discount on Rs 499 plan for 3 months, along with free subscription to OTT platform Hotstar , Amazon Prime and Netflix. After their assurance I decided to continue using their service as they promised to resolve my issue.

Again I received another call from another representative that she will give me just 3 months discount of Rs 100/- on my Rs 499/- plan and just Amazon Prime subscription for one year. I still wanted to continue my existing more than 5 year old relation with IDEA. I also received message on 19.10.2020 evening that Rs 100 discount 5 month activated from 19.10.2020. I then activated Amazon Prime subscription on my mobile.

Then to my surprise I received message on 19.10.2020 Night that my Rs 299/- plan has been activated. Also, my 200 GB remaining data was reduced to just 20GB data.

I called the customer care and asked that I didn’t requested for change of plan he told me that they received the request by mail to change plan. I have never send any such request and could have changed the plan from my Idea app. I asked him to register my complaint that I have change my plan and he registered complaint with reference number c004-90952893007 and also assured me that I will receive copy of my mail request.

Now on 22.10.2020 I received message that my Amazon Prime subscription renewed for 1 year @ Rs 999/- and same has been charge to my account and my current spend is shown as Rs 1145.61/- after adding Rs 999/- to my current FORCEFULLY changed plan of Rs 299/-. My previous compliant is still pending as well.

I want Idea(now know as vi-Vodafone Idea) to pay me for the data they reduced from my account i.e. 180 GB (as data was reduced from 200 GB to 20GB) at the price they charge to customer for over usage. I also want refund/ cancellation of RS 999/- charge they charged for Amazon Prime Subscription, as it was free for my Rs 499/- plan and was also promised by their executives when they call me. I want copy of my mail request received from my registered mail ID under which (according to them) they changed my plan from Rs 499/- to Rs 299/-. I also want to know the procedure to received my RS 500/- deposit I gave at the time of buying Idea postpaid sim in 2015, as after all this experience anybody will hardly want to continue their relation with such service provider.

I trusted their representatives word to continue my 5 year old relation with my service provide and the just overcharged me for my 5 years old loyalty to their service.
