I ordered furniture online from Saraf Furniture because I live overseas and wanted them delivered at my apartment in India. I called them immediately afterwards to ensure they will be delivered within the date range they specified. I was in the country for 3 weeks and the date range was well within this time. When it did not come I called them, and they said it would be delivered before I left. A couple of days before I left it still had not come and I asked them to cancel the order and issue a refund. They asked me to email them, which I did. They said they would let me know the update soon. I followed up twice after returning from India, and they said they will check with the senior management. A month afterwards, I called them. I was told it was not their poliocy to cancel the order and they will not issue a refund. They gave me two options- to have it delivered at a different address or hold it for a year until I come, both of which were not acceptable to me. Why would I trust a company that had not sent me the shipment on time? There was no resolution, except an email that came within 1 minute of my last call and said my order will be shipped within the next 2 hours- to an empty apartment to which I had told them I will not return for a year! Reading similar complaints here and reviews, this is a fraudulent company which has made it a practice to defraud people and not delivering on time or delivering at all in some cases. They never, ever process a refund. Who but a fraudster would process the shipment after waiting nearly 1 month since my request for cancellation, after I called them to inquire about the refund? Who but a fraudster would ship the item to a location which I repeatedly informed them would not have any receipients when it was delivered? Clearly they don’t care whether I take delivery or not. I would appreciate it if this was highlighted.
