I had one postpaid airtel sim which i had taken for some official purpose. After few months, I went to airtel store and requested them to deactivate the number. They took my request and put it in the system. They asked me to pay the due amount and that after 8 days, the number will get deactivated. I paid my due bill then. And on 8th day of the request,i.e., June 7, 2020, I received a message stating that “Hi, Service Request no. 31-3040684714565 registered for your Airtel Mobile XXXXXXXXXX has been resolved. We would love to have your feedback on the resolution. If you are happy with the resolution, please reply with 1 else reply with 2”.
I thought that the number has been deactivated. Then after one month, I received the due payment bill for that number. I ignored it thinking that it might be a mistake. But next month again, I received the payment bill, and then I reverted to that mail stating that I’ve already requested for closure of my number and i had received the message. They told me that the number has not been deactivated as they got request for cancelation of the disconnection request. But I never requested them to cancel my request. On June 8, 2020 I had took out the sim from my phone and never used it again. Then again I sent them a mail about my issue. Then I got a call and the person listened to my issue and said that he is putting request for disconnection of my number again. And I received a mail for the same. But after few days, I received a mail that my number has been resumed again as per the request. Then again I mailed them that I never requested to resume my number and I got the reply that my number has been deactivated. But again I received a call that my payment is due and my number is still active.
Kindly look into the matter. The customer service is very poor. Nobody knows the exact status of the number.
