Payme India, a Chinese-backed loan app from which I had applied for a loan, but it was rejected, a week later they sent me a message saying they would be calling from my contact list if I didn’t pay them, as I had already uninstalled and denied the app permission they should not have access to it. So it’s not only a case of extortion but also of data theft.
