I want to report an incident, that my information is leaked by Goibibo which is supposed to be confidential. As per Goibibo some random person called early in the morning on 14th and asked for my details to them if I have a flight /Hotels booking on 15th or 16th December and some past details too.

How I got to know about the entire Incident as I got a message stating the OTP of Goibibo validation on my number at 4:46 AM on 15th December 2022, but I was assured of the safety of my account details that’s why I didn’t bother much about it. But surprisingly I received a message at 5:31 AM that

“thank you for reaching out to us, your support request regarding travel-related Information is now closed”.

I was shocked and called Goibibo immediately as I was sleeping and didn’t provide the OTP to anyone how can my number be validated by Goibibo and provide my information to someone without my consent? ??

I couldn’t connect to Goibibo by that time. So I slept and again I spoke to Goibibo in the evening and I got to know about the entire Incident.

When I asked Sagar Badode (customer care representative for social media) the timing of the call then he told he is not aware of the timing of the call , but the previous agent has updated the request stating this by 5:15 AM on 15th December 2022 that my above-mentioned information was asked and provided to that person.

Now I have tweeted about the incident to Goibibo but no satisfying response from Goibibo so far.

I want to ask Goibibo if this is the way they are dealing with customer data then they should shut down their company as my email ID and phone number are known to several people across the globe but it doesn’t mean you will reveal the information without any validation of OTP be it any of my immediate family members too.

And tell me why have you made the system on IVR generate the OTP for validation of phone number, if your support team is not validating that and just providing information without it.

I want an answer to these questions raised at any cost and who will be responsible for this data leak of mine ..now my safety/security is a big concern.

I reported this Incident to GoIbibo and tweeted about it , but no significant action is taken by Goibibo yet.

I request you to take an action against GoIbibo and update me please.
