On 25th April 2023, I got a message on my whatsapp asking if I was interested in a part time job and would be paid for like facebook and instagram videos. They they put me into prepaid tasks and showed me that I would get a certain amount of income. After doing the task, instead of releasing the amount, they said that I have to pay more because I made a mistake in the task. After that they said I am now a VIP cutomer and have to upgrade by paying more. I paid all the requested amounts by using my savings. Still they were not ready to give me the money. They said now, I have to pay more because my account has been compromised/hacked. I was in a great desperation. So again used the funds in my savings to pay it off. After this, they said that my account was inactive for a long time and had to do activation tasks. Again had to pay some more amounts till all my savings was exhausted. But still the amount never came back. When I realised that I have been scammed for a lot of money, I immidiately logged in a complaint online on the cyber crime portal. However, it took a bit more time to register a FIR at my local police station at wakad Pune, because the amount lost was big. The FIR was logged on 26th June 2023 and the case in under investigation.
