This society charges around Rs, 20, 000 twenty thousand rupees from each flat owner every quarter. And now in the name of building repairing they collected around Rs three lacs from each flat whereas we have 78 flats total in our bldg.So every society thus falls under the definition of consumer protection act. And is liable to be punished if fails in it duty towards flat owners who are consumers who pay heavy sum to the society every quarter. Any society is under legal obligation to receive and immediately acknowledge complaints as and when received from any flat owner. But this society has developed a very dirty and illegal habit to refuse to give instant acknowledgment when we lodge complaint against them. This is a serious offence and violation of bye laws and punishable under bye laws too. We handed over our complaint to the society manager Sunil. But he refused to give any acknowledgment as instructed by the society chairman and secretary. Their such illegal denial brings us the rights to stop all payments at their risk and cost. While building repairing work was going on, they damaged out dish antenna. They have put plastic sheets all around the building which obstructed the signal from satellite and thus our TV stopped working in the absence of signal locked by their plastic sheet. Hence it is the society legal liability to fist get the damaged antenna set right and secondly to shift the dish antenna to other place to get clear signal as the repairing works will last for several months and they are liable to pay heavy compensation for each day they keep us deprived from our right to watch our TV.
