I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against SpiceJet Airlines for severely damaging my checked luggage during my travel on [Flight Number: ME7N8G] from [Phuket] to [Indira Gandhi Internation Airport] on [27/01/26]. Despite reporting the damage immediately to your ground staff at [Arrival Airport], who issued an acknowledgment with BIR No.131426, SpiceJet has refused to provide fair compensation.
The damage included [broken from 2 side completely. not able to use]. This occurred due to careless handling by SpiceJet staff, as evidenced attached. I have incurred losses of approximately INR [10000-12000 approx] for a replacement suitcase and related inconveniences.
Under the Montreal Convention (Article 17) and DGCA guidelines in India, airlines are liable for damaged baggage. SpiceJet’s refusal violates consumer rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. I have attempted resolution via emails/calls to SpiceJet, but received no satisfactory response.
