Subject: Complaint Regarding Manufacturing Defect in Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra – Denial of Free Replacement

Grievance:
I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra in April 2022. Recently, the device developed vertical/horizontal display lines, which is a well-known global manufacturing defect in this model.
I approached Samsung’s authorized service center, but they refused to provide a Free of Cost replacement, citing that my warranty has expired. This is unacceptable because:
1. The S22 Ultra was launched in March 2022, and this is a model-level defect, not a case of physical damage or misuse.
2. A manufacturing defect cannot be denied on the basis of warranty period, as per the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
3. In other countries, Samsung has replaced such defective screens free of cost as a goodwill gesture, but Indian consumers are being unfairly charged ₹15,000–₹20,000 for repair.
4. This amounts to deficiency in service and unfair trade practice.
As a loyal customer owning multiple Samsung products (Galaxy Tab S7+, Samsung TV, AC, Watch, Buds), I feel betrayed by this refusal and seek immediate corrective action.

Relief Sought:
1. Free of Cost screen replacement for my Galaxy S22 Ultra.
2. Written acknowledgment from Samsung that this is a manufacturing defect.
3. Compensation for mental harassment and inconvenience caused by the denial.
4. Directions to Samsung to provide the same relief to all affected S22 Ultra users in India, irrespective of warranty expiry.
