Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to file a complaint against PhonePe, a UPI payment application, for unethical and deceptive practices in their user interface design.

Recently, I have noticed that when I go to make any payment through UPI on the PhonePe application, a popup menu appears with bold and large text with a button labeled “Set Auto Payment.” In contrast, the text displayed for not selecting the auto-payment option is very low and unnoticeable.

This design flaw has caused me and many other users to accidentally click on the auto-payment option, resulting in unnecessary charges and inconvenience. It is evident that this design is intended to trick users into selecting the auto-payment option by default, which is a clear violation of consumer trust and ethical business practices.

I strongly urge you to take appropriate action against PhonePe and hold them accountable for their deceptive design practices. I believe that such unethical practices are detrimental to consumer welfare and have a negative impact on the overall trust and integrity of the digital payments industry.

I request you to investigate this matter thoroughly and take the necessary steps to prevent such practices in the future. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
