I, Sneha Shukla, wish to formally file a consumer complaint against BookLeaf Publishing for severe deficiency of service, misleading commitments, lack of transparency, and prolonged non-responsiveness.
I published my poetry book with BookLeaf Publishing after paying a registration fee of ₹1,999, followed by their “Bestseller Breakthrough Package” costing ₹11,999, around March 2025. It has now been almost one year, and multiple promised services have not been delivered.
Despite repeated follow-ups, I have a chain of 50+ emails with no resolution. There has been no effective communication or accountability from the company. The publishing manager assigned to me has remained completely unresponsive, and attempts to contact the company through emails, Instagram, WhatsApp, and the helpdesk have failed.
The company committed to Amazon Global listing, which to date has not been properly reflected. The book continues to appear as “out of stock” or “unavailable”, severely affecting visibility and sales. Additionally, a printing mistake from the publisher’s end took nearly two additional months to rectify, further delaying distribution.
There is no transparency in sales reporting. The sales figures communicated by BookLeaf do not match independently verified sales information available to me. Despite repeated requests for sales clarity and royalty settlement, I have received only repetitive and generic email responses with no factual data or payout details.
Further, copyright registration and related updates—promised as part of the publishing process—have not been provided. I have not received any clear confirmation, documentation, or status updates regarding copyright, despite multiple requests, adding to the uncertainty and professional loss caused.
This prolonged negligence, lack of communication, misleading assurances, non-fulfillment of paid services, and failure to provide copyright updates amount to unfair trade practices and deficiency of service under applicable consumer protection laws.
I am therefore seeking:
Complete transparency and verified clarification of sales and royalty statements
Immediate resolution of Amazon Global listing and availability
Written confirmation and documentation of copyright status
Refund/compensation for services not delivered and mental harassment caused
Accountability for prolonged non-response and misrepresentation
I am enclosing / prepared to submit payment receipts, email chains, screenshots, and all communication records as supporting evidence.
I respectfully request the concerned authority to take appropriate action in this matter.
