I, Farheen Naz, am writing this complaint to urgently report an unauthorized SIM porting case concerning my late husband’s mobile number.
My husband, Mohd Imran, son of late Zarafat Ali, passed away on 24th August 2025. His Airtel mobile number [9717088769], registered in his name, was in his personal use.
After his death, I retained possession of his phone and SIM card. However, I recently discovered that someone with the name of Irfan is using his sim , without any legal authorization or my consent.
It is deeply concerning that: without verifying rightful legal authority. I, being the lawfully wedded wife , was never contacted or informed.
On visiting the Airtel office in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, we were informed that the using documents submitted by(Mohd Irfan) Village Dautai, Tehsil Garhmukteshwar, District Hapur, Uttar Pradesh —which is also where my husband’s family belongs.
There is ongoing property and life insurance money dispute between me and my husband’s family, which raises serious concerns & I strongly suspect about the misuse of this number for fraudulent or unauthorized access to personal data or financial activities, especially concerning bank OTPs, insurance claims, or property documents access.
I request the following actions immediately:
1) Investigation into how the porting was approved without consent of the legal spouse and which documents were used.
2) Disclosure of the telecom operator to which the number was ported.
3) Steps to restore the number or secure it until legal succession is settled.
4) Legal action against any individual who submitted false documents for porting
I am currently six months pregnant, and the emotional impact of this situation and burden affecting my health and well-being. If required, I am ready to cooperate fully for investigation and verification. I request Airtel to immediately prevent any further misuse until a legal resolution is reached. Please treat this matter with the urgency and seriousness it demands.
