Text of Complaint by Sriram Girivasan:

We booked a zoom Renault Kwid from 6AM, 16th December to 10PM, 18th December.

We tried to communicate with the team more than 15 times and there was no resolution whatsoever. Customer service is pathetic to be honest.

Repeating the story again, we took the car around 9AM and we filled petrol around 11:00 am and car didn’t start for a while.

We raised a complaint for this and by the time the owner came, the car started. Then the owner himself came and told there are no issues with the car.

We started our journey to Vagamon from Ernakulam. The car broke down around 2:30 pm mid-way to Vagamon and we figured out there was an engine oil leak.

We immediately called the customer support and Vinayak from customer service told us to take the car till Vagamon and drop it there and Zoomcar will tow the car.

Even to tow the car we needed engine oil and we went 15kms down the hill to bring a mechanic and figure out the issue and he told It’ll take 3 days to fix this permanently.

As discussed with Vinayak over call, we used engine oil for time being and started going to Vagamon and the plan was to leave the car there.

We started again around 6PM but we hardly traveled for a kilometre and the car broke down again.

From 6:05 PM to 8:00 PM we tried reaching Zoomcar support to figure out a solution and there was absolutely no response.

So we left the car mid way and went to the resort around 9:00 PM. We were supposed to reach at 4:00 PM and all this happened on the way in the middle of the forest en route while our safety was completely compromised.

1. We wasted 4-5 hours of time getting in touch with a zoom representative and there was no response

2. We paid money for the mechanic, auto and travel to resort from our pocket

3. We haven’t heard back from Zoomcar till now.

4. We reached the resort real late and our booking was almost cancelled

5. We were stranded in the middle of a route with no lights or amenities and our safety was compromised while we were awaiting Zoom Car’s response

We want Zoomcar to refund our car booking amount (6748) and the amount we paid for repair(2600) at the earliest.

  1. There has been a similar incident with us, and they refuse to pay the refund. What should I do in this case?
    Is there any follow-up with the case?
