I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Zomato for unfairly deducting the full order amount after I was forced to cancel an order due to a technical fault in their application.
I had provided the correct delivery address while placing my order. However, despite entering the desired address accurately, the Zomato app repeatedly mapped the delivery location to my home address instead of the location where I intended the order to be delivered. This incorrect redirection occurred due to an issue within the Zomato application and not due to any mistake on my part. Because of this, the delivery partner was unable to reach the correct destination, leaving me with no choice but to cancel the order.
Following the cancellation, the full order amount was deducted as a cancellation charge, even though the cancellation resulted solely from the app’s malfunction. This has caused undue financial loss and inconvenience.
I therefore request the Hon’ble Consumer Court to kindly look into this matter and direct Zomato to refund the deducted amount and rectify such technical errors to prevent similar issues in the future. I am attaching relevant screenshots and order details as supporting evidence.
