Ordered a 2 kg cake for my mother’s 80th birthday. It was going to be a nice celebration with friends. Ordered the cake 2 days in advance to avoid any delays. The order was confirmed and I was debited for INR 1911 immediately (got an acknowledgement from Yash Sadh, not Daily Cakes?). Delivery was confirmed between 8 – 12 in the morning. Everyone was waiting, no cake till 12 so I sent a message to follow up. At 12.22 I get the following message:
We apologize for the delayed response.
We are really sorry to inform you that currently, we won’t be able to deliver the product to your location as our merchants are too far from your location. Hence, we have to cancel your order and your refund would be initiated within 10-15 working days.
Everyone was so upset. I was very angry that they had done this on my mother’s special day.
Sent emails to follow up on the refund. Till date not the refund is not received. No response from Daily Cakes, not even an acknowledgement.
Have now read that there are many complaints against this company and Daily Cakes has done this exact same thing many times. It’s not just the payment but they are playing with people’s emotions and spoiling special occasions for so many. It is surprising that Daily Cakes is still able to operate after so many complaints. They should be shut down and the guilty should be punished and made to pay.
