I’ve used Brave browser for about a year. At first it performed far better than any browser I had previously used and I was comforted by the safety and privacy assurances that were made. However, my satisfaction with Brave browser has waned and I’m almost to the point of switching browsers. Initially, Brave never crashed but currently I am experiencing a crash about three times a week. I’m not certain what the cause is but I’ve done everything advised on several support sites on the internet. Brave does not have a support system but has a community forum that one can post a problem and it may or may not get addressed.
So each time Brave browser crashes and I bring it up again, there is a button that asks me if I want to restore my previous open windows. I select yes but invariably the previously opened sites are not reopened. What makes matters worse is when I attempt to bring up those web pages that I was previously on, the “history” page is completely blank. I am tired of recreating the world three times a week.
Brave also touts that people can get paid for viewing ads on the brave website. I have to admit I’ve not seen many ads on Brave. What I have seen are numerous complaints from other users how they cannot bring up ads, or they view ads but the system does not register their viewing an ad, or they not getting paid or getting paid an Incorrect amount after they have viewed an ad. I’ve thought about registering for this service, but the instructions are so confusing that I am lost after the third sentence.
So I’m in hopes that someone at Brave reads this and can offer some solutions soon or I will be off using another browser.
