Text of Complaint by Sudip Ghosh:

2 Airtel lines – 9831803787 (Mob no from 2006)  &  7595076916 (data-card).

Due to terrible customer service provided by Airtel, especially  Airtel Relationship counter at Shyambazar Kolkata, I decided to quit Airtel POSTPAID mob No. and data-card service.  When I approached, the employees at shyambazar relationship counter has misbehaved, shoved and abused me in full show ( 3 of them, cashier, CS person and another helper). They uttered some unpardonable lines and offensive comments. They were ready to accept my closure request. Complaints raised on same day itself to Airtel by email.

Finally when the heckling over the counter continued for over 45 minutes on 14-15 March 2019, one of them said, they will close the line with immediate effect. I paid all dues on that spot, and said to discontinue the line immediately.  No one in the world can digest such public abuse from shoddy people like them and continue with airtel.

Thereafter I faced many difficulties, like had to change the mobile numbers on banks and offices and all institutions where it was the main contact numbers. In the process I had to undergo severe crises.

Finally when I am now contended with other vendors and their services, suddenly, Airtel send me a collection agent at my residence who demands money from me Rs. 1100/- for the data-card 7595076916 for month of March and April 2019. I reminded him that there were no connection or simcard, and dues were paid up-to the date used at the airtel counter itself. This person goes on saying that more people will come and you have to pay.

He gives a number of the collection supervisor Ajay (9903116146) who could not provide me any solution over phone or SMS as he does not know any details. He said he will revert but he did not revert back since last Friday.

Later I contacted the Shyambazar Relationship counter. As expected those people did not agree to speak over phone and did not give me any details of any bill or line, because it was 5:30 afternoon.

Now, since AIRTEL has been generating bills which are invalid and sending collection agents, my CIBIL score is bound to get affected apart from other hassles like abuses and threats from AIRTEL.

I have written to them and spoken to 121 also. They do not keep track of any mails or calls and keep deflecting matter to multiple people every time. They do not provide any phone number or email id of complaints officer or any high placed officer.

This is highly unacceptable, behavior wise, service wise, integrity wise and ethics wise or rules wise. The Airtel lines are closed and dues paid on 15 March itself. No usage later on. But Airtel asks for money in most unethical way.

I am hence raising an escalation or grievance in high intensity to resolve this matter, and bring the culprits to justice for their harassment and intentional money making activities without any basis.
