Dear Consumer Complaint Court Team,
Greetings of the day,
I wish to bring your kind attention towards a recently imposed regulation on its valuable Prepaid Customers by Airtel India.
I am using 02 prepaid Airtel numbers of UP West circle and received SMS on both of Airtel stopping outgoing services after 4 days even when we have INR 219/- and 232/- of balance respectively. We wondered why would this be done and we received another SMS on both stating that incoming services would also be barred right after 6 days of first information. As the services stopped, we contacted Airtel Customer Care only to know that the lifetime validity was not for the services but only for the balance and to use the same we need to recharge every 28 days from now onwards putting up extra burden of montly expenditure upon us and I wish to mention that I’m a Central Government Pensioner.
I don’t see a justified need of such a regulation and that too without a month prior notice. Now being cut off from the world including our children who stay in far off cities, we oldies are left with no option but to disconnect both our Airtel numbers and look for options which suit our needs and requirements. I would also like to mention that our family of four members including our children all using Airtel and only only Airtel since more than 15 years now which included Prepaid connections, Postpaid connections of our two children, their WiFi hot spot devices and DHT connections making it a total of 8 numbers in total and in our circle of friends and relatives this same issue is being discussed that in return to our loyal patronage of more than a decade and a half, a company of this repute that we trusted for years is now imposing plans and features like a cunning fox to extract more money out of its customers.
We collectively hate such policy makers and regulators and hope that this new procedure would be reversed to assist us in deciding to remain the Airtel customers in future as well hoping that we will not be forced to opt out to the competition for future services and facilities.
Please assist us in continuing to get the value of our money and trust.
