My query is related to Jio Fibre connection having Jio Fixed Voice Number +911135560215. I got this connection on 11.04.2021. I was in isolation at that time and was waiting for my isolation period to get over so that I could go back home. So when I received the call from the salesperson about the connection, he told me that there is a free trial plan of 30 days and I will have to deposit Rs. 1500 as security. He also told me that Rs. 500 will be refunded once I return the device whenever I choose to disconnect my connection. To which I SPECIFICALLY asked him can I recharge my account whenever I want, as I was aware I would be leaving the city anytime soon for my hometown due to the rise in the number of covid cases? To which he replied, yes! You can recharge your account online WHENEVER I want. All I have to do is go to the website of jio, select a plan and recharge my account. He did not disclose this information to me that if I do not recharge my account within 30 days of the expiry of the free trial period, my account will be deactivated. So basis this information, I got my connection with the above-mentioned number on 11.04.2021. On 19.04.2021, the lockdown was announced by Delhi government and I left for my hometown on the same day.

On 10.05.2021, I got this email saying that my account is suspended and in order to enjoy the services, I should recharge my account. As I was not in Delhi, I did not recharge my account. Then in the first week of June, I got a call from Jio and they asked me to recharge my account. I told them very clearly I am not in Delhi and don’t know when I will be back, so there is no point of recharge. Still, they did not tell me that my account will be suspended. After this, I got the message that my account has been suspended because I did not recharge my account within 30 days of expiry of the free trial period.

Now, when I talked to jio customer care, they are giving me this standard answer. I had specifically asked the sales guy about this recharge policy, he gave me the wrong information and misguided me and I acted on the basis of misinformation. Now, in order to get a new connection, I will have to pay Rs. 1000 all over again for no fault of mine.

Please look into this issue.
