I got a WhatsApp message from a Sarika Patel asking if I am interested in a typing job. I was interested and got the details from her. She sent me a agreement and asking me to esign it. As soon as I did that they gave me a login link and asked me to start the job. Initially they said that the registration fee for the job is Rs. 7,200 and it will be deducted from my first payment and I need not pay upfront. They gave me 5 days to complete the job and told me I’d have to pay the registration fee of I couldn’t complete the job. I had to type 200 pages of documents. I completed the job on time, but their website did not count the last page I had submitted. I received a call from a person claiming to be their lawyer and demanding that I pay the registration fee. He said a case has already been filed and it will be withdrawn if I pay the money within 30 minutes. I haven’t paid the money and I received the below messages.

This Intimation Letter Inform you, That EXPO ENTERPRISE Company has filed a case under the SECTION of 73-74-75 of INDIAN CONTRACT ACT 1872 for contract breach against you as under law that mention on THE AGREEMENT that if you have not SUCCEEDED ON YOUR JOB THEN YOU HAVE TO PAY THE PENALTY AMOUNT.
Remedies for breach of contract.
Sec 73 – compensation for loss or damage caused by breach of contract proximate losses not remote/indirect losses.
Sec 74 – compensation for breach of contract Where penalty specified.Sec 75 – party who is rightfully rescinding is entitled for compensation.
IPC SECTION
SECTION-406 – Punishment for criminal breach of trust – Whoever commits criminal breach of trust shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.
