I placed an order (# 405-6593365-8597933 ) on 7th July 2021 on Amazon for a jar of coffee. At 7:40 AM on the morning of 9th July 2021, I received a link for paying for the order online. Assuming it to be the more convenient method, I paid for my order using the link.
Some time later in the day when the product was actually delivered, I was not home and my family received the same for me. The delivery person asked for cash and my family paid the same, not being aware that I had paid for it already. This already is a huge failure on Amazon’s part, you should clearly communicate between your teams about payments instead of shifting that responsibility on the customers.
I understood that a miscommunication had occurred and informed customer care immediately on the same day itself. The customer care personnel assured me that my complaint has been lodged and that I will be receiving the refund soon. Between 9th July and today 22nd July i.e. almost 2 weeks, I have contacted the customer care 6 times and keep having to explain the same issue over and over again and get the same response in return.
I have requested multiple times that an email confirming refund due be sent to me but all I receive is messages from the customer care personnel. After the first 5 times of contacting customer care over customer chat, I decided to talk to them on a call today. The customer care listened to me explain the issue all over again then put me on hold and after a while just hung up. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt that it might just be a mistake but they never called me back.
It has been 2 weeks and I am having to repeatedly sacrifice my time and energy to get my own money back. It is not even a refund amount. It is my money that you have just taken, I did not give it to you against any purchase whatsoever. I’m being forced to waste my time again and again to receive an update that no one is giving me. I feel absolutely drained and humiliated.
