I have received a call from a person claiming I was a shortlisted Amazon customer for a gift but I had to order something on Amazon worth ₹4,999/-
But they asked me to pay for the order using an “Amazon gateway” instead of my Amazon app or Website.
I thought it was suspicious and said no but concerning part was when they first called me, they verified my Name, address, phone number, and recent Amazon order details accurately. How did they get access to my Amazon account details? Customer data has been leaked or sold?

I received a call just now from +918697484036. Trucaller showed it as Vaishali Jaiswal. The caller said she was from Amazon and she was calling regarding yesterday’s order. I asked which order? She rattled of details of one of my orders (not ordered yesterday, so looks like they have some details wrong) and said I could pick one of 5 items. A Dell 15.6 Inch Laptop, Sony Bravia 49 inches TV, IPHONE 11, Voltas ac, LG double door Refrigerator. At this point I was sure it was a scam so I asked her to send me a detailed email and said I would revert. She gave me a spiel about how they could not email this offer. I said I would check with Amazon cust service and call back just to see what she’d say. She said when I called back I would get through to a call centre and to ask for Aarvi Singh. Did a quick search and found 2 accounts of this scam with minor differences…
I too received a call just 2hours back from +918274914828. Trucaller is unable to recognize the number. The caller said she was from Amazon and she was calling regarding my Duke jacket order. She said she is from sale promotion department of Amazon. She told everything about my order placed yesterday. She informed me that my number was shortlisted for reward and said I could pick one of 5 items. A Dell 15.6 Inch Laptop, Sony Bravia 49 inches TV, IPHONE 11, LG double door Refrigerator or Voltas AC. At this point, I was surprised, but my mind was not able to accept this thing. so I asked her to send me a detailed email and said I would revert. Then I google about this kind of offer. I found many similar scam cases in the name of Amazon reward. Please beware of this kind of Educated Modern Thief. I am still waiting to see the offer details in the mail. I am concerned about how these thieves get personal details of customers from the Amazon Company. It may be through delivery persons.
