I received a call and they claimed to be from Amzon.in. They somehow had all details of my past purchases and hence, sounded legit. I had to purchase an Amazon gift card worth Rs. 5000 to avail a free gift of worth Rs. 59,000. I made the payment and they said there’s some issue with GST so got to pay 11,000 more since its 18% GST on the free gift. Then they said there’s a gateway issue so I’ll have to make the payment again and not to worry because apparently the whole amount will be refunded in few mins while on the call itself. I have a debit worth Rs. 68,000 now and then when I asked to talk to their Senior Executive, there was a guy called Dayashankar Mishra, claimed to be Senior Sales Executive from Amazon.in (Noida). He gave his contact no. as well 9732660628. I don’t know if I’ll get the money back but I hope no one else has to go through this again. I received the call claiming it to be from Amazon.in from 8585810050. It was a 1 hour 27 mins call. They will ask you to transfer amount to a Paytm Bank with some legit looking Account no. and IFSC code. It was just a bad day or me I guess. I have all the transaction IDs.
