- We had placed an order for a 7X10 feet rug on Mar 1st, which came in a different color from what we had ordered, basis which we had requested for return as per the return policy
- The return and refund are yet to happen, its been 4+ months
Details:
- I ordered a rug on Amazon on Mar 1st, 2020. Order ID: 40706014865832348, delivered to Bangalore. For this item, it clearly mentioned and continues to mention a 10-day returnable policy, it is quoted “please keep the item in original condition…for a successful return pick-up“
- The carpet I received was pinkish in colour rather than beige as mentioned on the product page and product heading/name – hence had requested for return long back, prior to the initial lockdown
- The rug was supposed to be picked up by 21st Mar (approximately) – before lockdown started. No one came for pickup and there was no communication on the delay of pickup
- In April, I contacted the seller, asking the status of the return pickup and refund of the money. On this he replied back asking us to self-return a 7 X 10 feet rug by ourselves. As it is quite tough for someone to courier a 7 X 10 feet rug on their own, this was shocking and a rather poor user experience for us
- When I gave a poor product rating on Amazon, the seller called me and assured the product will be picked up once lockdown is over and requested me to update the rating
- Now that the lockdown got over, I requested the return pickup to be scheduled. But sadly, I am being asked to courier a 7 X 10 feet rug – would like to reiterate it is not possible for someone to courier such a huge rug
- I even offered to return it myself given they reimburse me the courier amount beforehand, they have not agreed to that as well
- I tried reaching out to Amazon customer support on website/ chat/ call with no response from Amazon team. My wife was forced to tweet this, and sadly the response we got from Amazon was to courier it myself and then we asked the team to check for more feasible options, have not received any response post that
- The website still says the product is eligible for return pickup. Also, the product is being delivered to my address in a week, seems like the logistics resources are not the blocker over here but its the seller who is blocking this piece by having unreasonable expectation of customers returning such large items on their own
Right now we are waiting to get the refund which has been pending for a long time.
