Text of Complaint by Shivam Sharma:

I took an Airtel Xtreme Fiber connection on 18.05.2021. Installation was done next day and my plan promised speed upto 100 mbps. However, the actual speed varied between 20-30mbps(1 feet distance with no obstruction). This continued for a few days and I complained to the Airtel staff who sold the device to me. He promised quick action and nothing happened for two days[I have call record of multiple calls with him on this]. Finally, I complained to Airtel customer care on 24.05.2021. My complaint had two parts and they skipped one part entirely while noting down the complaint[I have call record of this]. They promised that the complaint will be resolved within 48 hours. Two different Airtel engineer/technicians called me regarding the complaint and the first one told me that Airtel modem is substandard and is uncapable of giving speed beyond 30 mbps and so there is no way I can get the promised 100 mbps. He further mentioned that whoever mentioned that I will be getting 100 mbps has lied and misled me[I have call record of all this conversation with me]. The second technician called me and told me to buy another router if I want better speed as Airtel modem/router cannot give the promised 100mbps speed.[I have this call recorded with me as well] Side note: Airtel promises speeds upto 1Gbps on this same router/modem. Seems like fraud that they will promise such high speeds when multiple technicians of theirs are clearly saying that speed cannot go beyond 30 mbps on that router.
I elevated the complaint with the customer care on 27.05.2021 and was promised quick resolution within 4 hours itself. Nothing happened for 7 hours. After that I got a message that my complaint has been resolved and successfully closed. I was surprised and called customer care again. The senior there told me that they had tried contacting me on both my primary and alternate mobile numbers and the call could not connect. Now, this was a lie and I mentioned the same to him. He casually asked me to again register another complaint and go through the above torture again. These Airtel guys have caused me immense mental agony and my work has gravely suffered because of them not providing the promised speed. Please look into the fraud that they have been running by promising high speeds[upto 1 Gbps] when their router is not capable of providing even 50mbps[according to their own engineers]. They are just skimming innocent customers who are forced to work from home by proving substandard products and making fake promises.
