I was using Hathway fibernet. Due to attractive offers by Airtel Xstream Fiber, I have requested for Airtel Xstream Fiber broadband connection. Sales person informed end to end fiber can be provided to my premises located at South High Court Colony, Villivakkam Chennai – 600049. But after paying 3 months rental inclusive of GST Rs. 2,828.00 online, sales person absconded. Not picked up my call. After several followups, Airtel have installed normal copper wiring instead of fiber optic wiring. This was not even informed to me as well. I was under an impression they have installed fiber optic cable. However within 2 months I have reached out to customer care for the issue that “internet not working”. Then I understood from one of the engineer that only copper wire available in my location and same is installed for my premises. This is completely unfair trick from Airtel to capture the market. The technology used by Airtel is no way near Jio and cannot even be compared. Last 2 days internet is not working and after escalating to Nodal team and apellate team. I am just receiving auto response kind of message and this already impacted my work for the last 2 days. If Airtel cannot fix the internet not working issue and upgrade to fiber optic cable end to end as promised within 13 Dec 2020, they have to refund the amount.
