Text of Complaint by Ajinkya Salunke:

Complaint:
I am using an Airtel prepaid/postpaid connection with an eligible plan that clearly mentions “Unlimited 5G Data.” Despite this, whenever I use mobile data on 5G, it still consumes my daily 4G data quota. Once my 4G quota is exhausted, my internet speed is reduced, and the unlimited 5G benefit does not apply.

This is misleading because:

The plan specifically states “Unlimited 5G Data,” but the usage is deducted from the 4G quota.

The Airtel Thanks app and advertisements claim customers will get unlimited 5G if their device and area support it.

Many customers, including myself, are facing the same issue, which feels like false advertising.

Relief Sought:

I request Airtel to immediately fix this issue and ensure that 5G usage is not deducted from the 4G quota.

Provide clarification on any hidden Fair Usage Policy (FUP) limits that were not clearly disclosed at the time of recharge.

Compensation for the inconvenience caused due to misleading claims.
