Text of Complaint by Prasanta Kumar Pattnaik:

I visited Airtel store Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai for mnp of my Jio postpaid to airtel prepaid. Waited about 30 mins for my turn in the queue. Initially the executive told that postpaid to prepaid porting not possible and asked me to go for postpaid. When I said that in Airtel app the option is already showing then he agreed to do porting to prepaid. But somehow the unique port code was not getting generated and asked me to contact my existing service provider. Then I returned and came back another day with my port code. This time it was another executive. Initially he was reluctant to do the porting, then he asked another airtel executive, both of them were looking at me as if they were judging people by look. Then the executive told the same story that ‘postpaid to prepaid porting not possible’. Then I also repeated the same comment that it’s showing in Airtel app. But the executive told that initially you have to go for postpaid to postpaid only and after 90 days only you can change to prepaid. Finally I had to return back. I felt very bad the way Airtel is handling it’s customers. If you do not want prepaid customers then inform them upfront. Why are you doing all this unfair means to coercing customers to choose postpaid. I hope some good person seating in some higer position in Airtel will look into the matter and provide justice to it’s customers. Thanks
