My SIM got deactivated and I was told by airtel store employee and customer service that the SIM got corrupted and that it happens in smartphones every now and then. They did not do any investigation and charged me Rs 25 for a new Sim. It looks like this is another way for them to monetize. I found similar complaints from other customers as well.
