I had put my number in Airtel’s “Safe Custody” scheme when I travelled abroad for a few months and had paid the amount for 1-2 months. After a few months, in March, I received an email about a new bill payment for safe custody due in April. I made the payment within 3 days of receipt. After that I did not get any email from Airtel for a few months.
Recently, I sent them an inquiry about an issue and was informed that my number had been disconnected because of non-payment! When I gave them proof of payment before the due date, they said that the number was disconnected and I will have to apply for a new connection.
