I uploaded my Airtel app. It got updated to Airtel Thanks App on 12 December 2020 at 8:53PM In this app, my banking data automatically appeared. Then I received a message from Airtel stating ” Hi, we have received request for registering your account with UPI. Please call at 8800688006, If it is not initiated by you.”
I have not initiated any UPI linking request. Post this, I called on the number provided to complain, but there is auto voice message stating not reachable or switched off. Airtel is unethically accessing my private data and is using it. Also, Airtel is violating data privacy of customers by accessing their data and unethically using it.
There is no registration made my me for any banking related services with Airtel. Consent from customer is not availed but customer data is being used and automatic registration is done by Airtel.
Besides, there is no customer greivance helpline to register a complaint against the company. This is pure case of fraudulent activity and violation of data privacy rules.
Request you to take action on priority. Misuse of customer data is a major offense.
