I am using Airtel number, When I opened Airtel app on my mobile, and was checking for recharge.
I got a SMS AMAIRBNL, saying “we have received request for registering your account with UPI. Please call at 8800688006, if it is not initiated by you.”
I tried to call that 8800688006, but there was recorded message, and there no option regarding denial of the request or talk to Airtel representative, then why are you asking call that number.
First thing you ask customer confirm if customer has initiated instead of asking “call 8800688006 if it is not initiated by you“
Secondly how Airtel is showing my linked bank account numbers in mobile app. How do you get authority to linked bank account when I have not raised request or authorized Airtel to do so. If I install app on my mobile then Airtel should assume consent to access my bank details or personal details on my phone.
Again the number on net +91 124 4552258 is proceeding same message and no option to talk to representative.
If you representatives are available only on Monday to Friday for specific time. then you mobile app should not register any customer automatically and ask customer to call if it is not initiated by you. Customers Grievances Officer is also available on from 11:oo to 3 pm Monday to Friday.
Airtel is linking bank accounts and registering customer without customer consent. I want to know how Airtel app got my bank account numbers though it is partly obfuscated/XXXXX.

Even my dad got this kind of SMS. How can Airtel is authorised to register upi on behalf anybody.
