Airtel has robbed me illegally of my money, Taken away the equipment I have paid for with my user details, Treated me cheaply, Insulted me with an attitude of do what you want we don’t care.

Text of Complaint by VINISH SHETTY:

From Today morning (15/03/2023) I have spoken to multiple customer care agents and managers regarding a purchase of a remote for my old Airtel Xtreme set top box, But after multiple attempts and escalations due to engineer demanding more money for delivery of replacement remote I was told by one of the floor supervisors (Prashanth) to buy airtels new xtreme set top box at a special offer for existing customers at Rs.1150 only

After the service engineer visited my premises to install the new box he informed me that the new airtel xtreme box doesn’t allow recording of online content, For which I had to call back again as I was informed the box allows recording, After updating the new box with my user details (connection information) The service engineer wanted me to return the old set top box to which I have denied and expressed to hold on to the old box, Further I contacted airtel at which point I spoke to Vikas floor manager from customer care who had been interrupting and rude to me who has also instructed the service engineer to take the new box on which my customer details are active back with the service engineer without activating my old set top box with my customer information. Vikas was also repeatedly demanding me to adjust with a substandard product and service over the entire course of the call.

I have called airtel Nodal officers desk to speak with Mr.Shashikanth Koppal however when I called the Nodal officers desk on 080-41704930 as displayed on airtels website I have reached customer care and spoke with one of your colleagues at Nodal escalation desk who has promised a call back with in one hour which has not happened till now.

When I agreed to buy the new airtel xtreme box I was told the total charge was Rs.1150, But now my DTH account has been charged Rs.1300 for the new box which has not been delivered which contains my user account details which has been confiscated by the service engineer and I have also been charged for engineer visit which I was informed would be free.

Right now I do not have the new set top box I have paid for, And I am unable to watch the DTH content i have paid for which your are charging from my account.

Airtel has robbed me illegally of my money, Taken away the equipment I have paid for with my user details, Treated me cheaply, Insulted me with an attitude of do what you want we don’t care. My question to Airtel DTH team and the Nodal officer is why should I bare this behavior from Airtel staff, Doesn’t this amount to crime. Being a long time airtel customer I will not accept this treatment by airtel and its staff.
Kindly require justice against this action of Airtel staff.
