  1. Airtel is Charging for 1860 series number without informing customers that , apart from Local STD and ISD numbers there exists a fourth category called Special numbers which are chargeable @Rs.1 per min.

    1. Really wrong policies from airtel. We are recharging with unlimited packs still they are charging for 1860

  2. even after recharging unlimited pack, airtel is charging without informing. its very irritating.

  3. Hello airtel cheeting the customers while calling 1860 numbers. I came to know before calling to 1860 number from airtel number is that uts chargable and the charge ire per min. But after the call they have deducted 7rs for 2 mins duration.

  4. Why is airtel charging me fraudulently under special number garb of 1860 series. Why is it not linked to my unlimited calls package which I have bought from airtel. The 1860 numbers are customer service numbers of big corporates like banks , railways etc. You have to then go through their IVR before you can reach anybody which can sometimes strech up to half an hour. This is ridiculous Airtel.

  5. I just noticed this today in my recent Bill, I have lodged a complaint with them but they were eager to close the issue without talking work me first. I may move to Prepaid and migrate if they don’t stop this immediately. I already pay quite a bit for sparingly used mobile

  6. I just got a hefty bill where I have been charged an unacceptable amount of 248 Rupees for the calls made to my Bank on their premium number 1860 for 3 days and in total 124 minutes of conversation with the IVR and with people whom I can’t understand. I had to call the bank, because of a refund that the bank was supposed to give me because of an idiot at the bank’s cash register. Airtel charged me 2Rupee per pulse for the calls made to the Bank’s premium 1860 number and now my bill is a huge bill. How will we as consumers resolve our issues or survive, if things are like this in our country where we are stripped and looted by banks and service providers? Very horrible experience indeed to live and survive in the country, where every service provider likes to take a bite out of our pockets. Already the Airtel’s network is not good in my area, so I have to use WiFi calling option to make calls and now this! This ridiculous bill. TRAI are you alive?! Time to port.

  7. What is the point of complaining here when nobody is taking the action. The worst part is it takes me several minutes to just reach the customer service person. This way it is guaranteed that you will be end up paying at least INR 3-4 before you even reach the right menu option. This is Disgusting for why don’t we have a choice and option to skip the case and get to the person when we are paying. It is like INR 2-3 is nothing but when there are crores of people. It becomes something really considerable.

  8. As of september 2021, while writing this comment
Airtel has started to inform customers about charges via IVR at the beginning of a call made to any “special number”(i.e starting with 1860)

  9. I AM PAYING MONTHLY 500+ POSTPAID BILL EVERY MONTH. STILL CANT DIAL THESE SPECIAL NUMBERS???OPENED A TICKET WITH CC, WAS PROMISED RESOLUTION IN 12 HRS, THAT WAS 48 HOURS AGO.NICE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM AIRTEL. WHY SHLDNT i SWITCH TO SOMETHING ELSE?

    1. Hello Sir ,
I have also been cheated by Airtel for the same concern. Airtel has started behaving like a cheap service provider where they randomly add some amount with comment as other charges.
Did you get any resolution or feedback from Consumer forum ?

  10. Airtel added nearly 30 rs to my bill for same ‘voice special number’ for my postpaid plan, they said you called 1860 number. I opened a ticket and 1 rude guy said since I called on 1860 number, it will be charged. Its plain cheating since I am already paying for unlimited calls.

  11. Airtel is not the same Airtel anymore, it has become a big fraud company .. specially offer of Airtel Black, unlimited calling plans, are just to fool around their loyal customers. Its a shame such a big company is falling to such tricks to to loot customer money.

  12. Does Airtel bother to respond? They have added an announcement that 1860 series are special numbers, and chargeable. For tariff, they ask us to refer airtel.in website. This website however, doesnt enlighten you on charges for special numbers unless some fine print somewhere. mal practices!

  13. I also have same experience. Airtel is charging for toll free number even i also have unlimited plan. I will switch to another network once my current recharge will about to close.

  14. its this a trap, how you can loot people. this is unfair. Need to raise our voice against this unfair practises. we pay every month for packages, still this additional charges is ridiculous
