Text of Complaint by Khan Tausif Ahmed:

1. On 6 july 2022, I applied for changing my Airtel prepaid sim to postpaid. I went in person at Airtel store for the same.

2. Airtel store is in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Nirala bazaar store.

3. I was told in store that the Sim will be activated within 3-4 hours.

4. I received an SMS from Airtel saying that the request is under process and will take upto 24 hours.

5. It’s been more than 24 hours and neither my Sim has signal nor have I received a call from Airtel for tele verification.

6. My all bank accounts and UPI IDs are linked to this sim. Hence I am unable to make any online payment.

7. I am currently in travel and am supposed to book my return ticket but unable to, as I cannot make payment to book tickets because all OTPs are going on my registered Airtel sim which hasn’t been activated.

8. With the world moving towards digital and online payment modes, this careless behavior and lengthy procedure from Airtel is taking us 1 step backwards from moving to online payments.

9. I worry about the number of people who are facing same thing from Airtel and yet it hasn’t imoroved it’s procedure.
