In January 2018, i had asked Airtel to disconnect my broadband connection as i wasnt using it much. In response to it, i was given a lifetime discount of 200 rs on my bill and hence i retained my connection as the bill amount was less. From Jan 2018 till April 2020 my bill amount was 470. In April 2020, they had removed the 200 discount that was provided. By this time lockdown started in India and i was not able to talk to any customer care agents. I did send a mail to nodal.southabts@in.airtel.com and 121@in.airtel.com and finally aftere multiple reminders i get an email saying “You have availed the discount for more than 6 months and hence its not applicable anymore”. For this my response was to disconnect my connection as i dont need that connection without the discount.
Firstly i am surprised how a “Lifetime discount” can expire all of a sudden after 2 years. Shocking this is, i was not even informed about this and airtel service is pathetic. I have mailed them, tweeted them to disconnect my connection and its been a month and its still not disconnected.
