I was booked on flight 9I-894 on the 10th of March with PNR DQJEW8.
The flight from Chennai to Hyderabad was scheduled for 13:30 departure. I got a call from the airport at about 12:10pm asking for my whereabouts and I was yet to reach the airport. The staff then informed me that they intend to depart early by 12:45 as all of the other passengers had checked in. I advised that I would only be able to adhere to the usual timelines of checking in an hour early and then maybe boarding latest 25 minutes before the departure time which would be 13:05 in this case as opposed to the 20 mins earlier they were suggesting. On this, the airline staff then told me I could choose an alternate flight if I wanted to which I agreed keeping in mind the convenience of the airline and all the passengers who had already boarded the aircraft as I had to emergency to fly to Hyderabad.
However, now when I try to rebook, the airline is charging me a fare difference of almost the entire amount of my prior flight booking. This is not what was promised. I was confirmed a free reschedule. Giving up, I canceled the pnr and it has reverted with a Rs 20 refund. Is this a joke? How is this acceptable? It’s humiliating at best.
I demand the airline to investigate this immediately, listen to the recorded line that I got a call from and immediate provide me an alternate flight to choose failing which I will escalate this appropriately. It has been more than a month and I have not received any response to my emails
