Hello Team Adani
This is in regards to the Account no – 150938179
I have already gone thru different articles and explanations about what is happening for the spike in bill amount and how you guys have now revised the amount after new meter readings. Also, I have gone thru the logic of you guys taking average of winter months and billing us for Mar/Apr/May 2020 which ideally are Summer months during this pandemic period.
But still, I would like to highlight certain facts and also my average billing amount from the past 1.5 years.
I have received a total bill amount of 13,480/- and the break up as below –
June 2020 bill amount – 5026.17/-
Revised amount difference for Mar/Apr/May 2020 – 8364.04/-
Below is further breakup month-wise –
Mar 2020 old amount – 3178.05/- VS new amount – 6241.64/-
– I cannot understand the logic of an increase in the amount for the month of March as the lockdown started end of March 2020.
My March 2019 bill was 2210/- How can March 2020 revised bill go up to  6241.64/- when the lockdown started end of March 2020?
April 2020 old amount – 2536.42/- VS new amount – 5026.17/-
May 2020 old amount – 2849.88/- VS new amount – 5660.57/-
– My April 2019 bill amount was 3790/-  & May 2019 bill amount was 4180/-
The argument here is that how can we say that bill amount will be high because of lockdown when the usage is almost the same as I have my Mother/Father who are retired and always at home and my wife who is a blogger but due to this pandemic her blogging is almost stopped with minimal to NO  usage of the laptop. Instead, I am the only bread earner in the house is working from home with my salary cut to 50%. Because of me staying home and working on laptop which my wife also use to do which she is not doing now, you are saying that the bill amount will spike double. I don’t see any change in the lifestyle of any of my family members or high usage as such. On top of that, I don’t have a television at my place which you guys can come and do an inspection, if required.
Another interesting fact that I wanted to highlight is that when you guys are saying that the average amount was calculated by team Adani taking Winter months, in which the consumption is lower compared to summer months and Mar/Apr/May 2020 are summer months, well my bill for the month of Nov 2019 was highest in entire 1.5 years which was 5280/- as I had guests at my place last year in the month of Nov 2019 for almost 14 days and obviously the consumption was high for that month and we can consider that a winter month.
Below is the my entire history of 1.5 years bill amount –
Feb 2019 – 1070/-
March 2019 – 2210/-
April 2019 – 3790/-
May 2019 – 4180/-
June 2019 – 4330/-
July 2019 – 3220/-
Aug 2019 – 3000/-
Sept 2019 – 3440/-
Oct 2019 – 4310/-
Nov 2019 – 5280/-
Dec 2019 – 3960/-
Jan 2020 – 2380/-
Feb 2020 – 3650/-
March 2020 – 3080/- (original bill amount)
April 2020 – 2530/- (original bill amount)
May 2020 – 2840/- (original bill amount)
June 2020 – 5026.17/- (on the current bill)
Also, another thing which i wanted to highlight was that while calculating the difference amount from the revised and old amount, you guys have considered the old amount as the highest amount which you guys mention for after due date amount.
like for eg – as i mentioned above that March 2020 was 3080/- but u have 3178.05/- which is a direct increase of 98.05/- and similarly for April/May 2020.
Another gap is that now my total bill is for June 2020 is 13,480/- and on the bill, its mentioned that if the bill is paid on or before 14th July that is today, the amount needs to pay is 13,440/- (40/- less) BUT when I go to GPAY, it’s showing 13,480/-
If I have to do a rough calculation based on how my consumption and average bill amount should be, below is what I can think off-
March 2020 should ideally not be changed and should be same 3080/-
April 2020 should ideally be around 4000/- so the difference should be (4000 – 2530 = 1470/-)
May 2020 should ideally be around 4200/- so the difference should be (4200 – 2840 = 1360/-)
& finally, June 2020 should ideally be 4500/-
So, if i sum up all the amounts highlighted in yellow, it comes to 1470+1360+4500 = 7330/-  against the total bill of 13,480 which is actually almost double the amount.
Tell me how should I go ahead with this during such difficult times when you are the only bread earner with 50% of the salary cut. I also tried visiting the Andheri west S.V road Adani center and the scene out there was terrifying. So much of crowd and people were yelling at top of their voice and not even following social distancing norms. It was like a fish market wherein I moved out withing seconds looking at the situation as I thought that fighting for bill amount will actually cost my life. I am really really disappointed and at the same time helpless and don’t know what to do. I also had a discussion with so many colleagues, friends and family members who are actually taking service from TATA and are really happy with service which TATA is providing during these difficult times. I seriously pity this big brand and the way you guys have handled this situation. If you guys were aware about how things were shaping in terms of lockdown, you could have proactively informed your customers to take meter readings and send it to you guys but I guess the management at Adani failed to plan and handled the situation.
Not sure whether this email will reach the right level of management who can at least read rather than you guys deleting the email without any response. Looking forward to hearing from you guys ASAP.
