Text of Complaint by Vaibhav Singh:

SkullCandy, the US based company headquartered in Park City, Utah is known for it’s crisp sound technology and trendy designs which it offers in music devices. This is the sole reason, why music lovers go for Skullcandy even when there are other trusted brands available.

But unfortunately in India, the official distributor of SkullCandy products is BrandEyes pvt ltd, a Noida based distributor firm. On the official website of SkullCandy (SkullCandy.com), for India location, the registered website is SkullCandy.in (Run by BrandEyes) which host some products which are not even listed on their parent website SkullCandy.com.

Here comes the foul play BrandEyes do with their customers taking advantage of unregulation from SkullCandy: –

  • SkullCandy India products are cheap in material quality as well as they are often defective and don’t offer the promised sound quality.
  • An Indian customer can’t register his complaint on SkullCandy.com. He can only write a mail to the customer care of BrandEyes, to which they generally don’t respond.
  • Under warranty products purchased from E-shopping websites are often rejected by the BrandEyes stating the product to be counterfeit.
  • For the products purchased from their official website SkullCandy.in, they don’t provide the option to raise request for Replacement, Query, Return and Refund. The only option, a customer has is to write a mail to the customer care of BrandEyes to which they never respond timely.
  • SkullCandy.in don’t provide a warranty card to their customers.
  • After several mails, even if BrandEyes responds to the complaint it put forth certain Terms and conditions, which even they do not fulfill. Like they ask for VAT/GST receipt to claim warranty, when they only provide a CCAvenue invoice without declaring tax details for online purchase from their website. Also they state, they will replace the product depending on their stock availability, which again seems to be a vague promise as a customer is unaware about how much time they will take.
  • According to “THE CONSUMER GOODS (RIGHT TO FREE RETURN) BILL, 2015”, any consumer has the right to return the product to the company within a stipulated time from purchase(15 days). But BrandEyes blatantly refuse to follow any such rules.
