On 28-Aug-23, I took a data entry job project for my wife from AC Work Pvt Ltd as one of their persons, Monika (later realised as fake name), contacted me on my phone through Whatsapp.
The job was to fill 700 forms online in 6 days with a reimbursement of INR 17,500.
They did not take any joining fees though.
They provided their company’s website link, acworkpvtltd.com, https://acworkpvtltd.com › userlogin
with a user name and password.
However, right from day one, the website had issues of lagging and not connecting.
We immediately reported it to them through whatsapp, but the person on the other end who called herself Monika, kept asking us to try over and over again.
Considering this to be a genuine issue, my wife worked day and night to complete the task.
On the the 4th day, 1-Aug-23, when we were at 698 forms, the website stopped and a error
message appeared asking us to contact the ‘Account Manager’.
We contacted ‘Monika’ but she redirected us to ‘Kavya Roy Ma’am’ (presumably another fake name) who then messaged us, that our account isnt active since we have 2 unfilled forms and demanded a amount of INR 8,000 to reactivate the account.
We explained that the issue is purely technical and we have no control on it.
However, if she grants us the access we will complete the 2 pending forms, if any.
But she said the account will be reactivated only post payment and neither provided any report.
She even threatened us that our file will be moved to their ‘legal’ department where we will be made to pay INR 50,000 as penalty.
We stopped responding to her after telling that we will take this matter to cyber police.

We now want that a legal notice to come to our doorstep for that we can seek justice in the court of law.
