Subject: Request for Correction of Electricity Bill, Meter Replacement, and Refund of Overcharged Amount

Respected Sir/Madam,

I am writing to bring to your attention a serious issue regarding my electricity bills and meter readings.

1. Incorrect Billing for Previous Month:
Due to an error by MSEDCL staff, the previous month’s bill was generated by combining two months of unit readings. This resulted in my consumption being pushed into a higher tariff slab, causing an unusually high bill. If the readings had been billed separately for each month, the charges would have fallen under the lower and medium tariff slabs.

2. Abnormally High Bill for the Current Month:
My current month’s bill is also excessively high. I am confident that there is some issue or error in your billing system or meter functioning.

3. Unresolved Complaint:
Although I have registered complaints through the MSEDCL website and customer care number, the responses I received are only based on recorded data and do not address the actual problem.

4. Meter Reading Increasing Without Usage:
On the previous day at 03:30 AM, my meter reading was 725 units. I then switched off all electrical connections in my room. However, when I checked the meter again today at 08:30 AM, the reading had increased to 728 units. This clearly indicates that the meter is malfunctioning. I am ready to demonstrate this practically in your presence as well.

5. Request for Meter Replacement:
Considering the above issues, I request that my electricity meter be replaced immediately.

6. Request for Refund:
I also request a refund or adjustment of the excess amount that has been overcharged due to incorrect billing and faulty meter reading.

I kindly request you to look into the matter urgently and resolve my complaints at the earliest.
